This year’s designers include Project Runway Canada winner Evan Biddell, TFI New Labels winner Eugenia Leavitt, Nada Yousif, Aime Luxury, Jason Meyers, Carrie Hayes, Zoran Dobric, Thien LE and Damzels in this Dress. Each designer showcased three designs using fabric that meets the environmental friendly and sustainable criteria. Fashion Takes Action is the brainchild of Kelly Drennan, a fashion and lifestyle publicist who felt the need to combine her experience and contacts with her passion for the planet. The idea about the Green Gala is to show everyone that being environmental friendly and fashionable goes hand to hand together. Everyone can do their part to care for our planet and certainly Kelly and her initiatives show us that there are more we can do with every aspect in our lives including fashion and shopping. At this year’s Fashion Takes Action Green Gala, ten top Canadian designers along with ten Canadian Celebrities showed us when mixing style and environmental friendly fabric the results are nothing but vivid colours and designs that truly ‘wow’ everyone at the event.
