Bell and Telus will begin selling iPhone starting in November along with their launch of their new jointly built cellular network according to a report by The Globe and Mail. This will end Roger's monopoly in the iPhone market as well as many GSM / HSPA only mobile device.
Bell, Telus and Apple did not confirm the move, which The Globe and Mail attributed to unnamed sources. Bell announced on Monday that its portion of the joint network was launching months ahead of plan. According to Bell, the new network will offer mobile internet speeds up to 21 megabits per second with more than 20,000 towns and cities covered.
GSM based cellular network is the most widely used system in the world and users enjoy the benefit of changing device by simply transfering the SIM card from one device to another.
