Independent Web and mobile video content platform Babelgum and the Canadian Film Centre’s (CFC) Worldwide Short Film Festival (WSFF) have partnered to create three online video channels to enhance short film-viewing experiences for attendees and film enthusiasts around the globe. Taking place from June 1st to June 6th, the 2010 CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival, presented by TELUS, ranks as North America’s largest short film festival and market and is widely acknowledged as a global leader in the exhibition and promotion of short films.
“Short film lovers everywhere can now enjoy WSFF films anywhere in the world without compromising their viewing experience,” said Eileen Arandiga, director, CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival. “Babelgum is revolutionary in its video platforms and we are thrilled to provide WSFF patrons with more high-quality short films outside of the theatre.”
Three individually themed web-based channels, Roving Curator, Festival Picks and the already launched Shortsnonstop, provide high-quality short films from the WSFF vault for users to explore, hand selected by film curators. Shortsnonstop presents a lineup of the festival’s recent finalists. The Roving Curator channel provides a journey through the WSFF archives showcasing 10 different titles four times a year, and Festival Picks plays 15 fan-favorite short films from this year’s Worldwide Short Film Festival. The channels can be viewed at www.babelgum.com/wsff.
