HTC has enjoyed a lead in launching Google's Android phone but that will change coming this fall. Code-named Rachael, Sony Ericsson's Android phone will be announced later this year, according to information obtained by the Danish Mobil magazine. The phone will be part of SE's XPERIA series, which so far includes the Windows Mobile-based X1 model.

Not to be left behind, Nokia is developing an Android mobile phone in a strategic U-turn for the world's largest mobile phone manufacturer who has lost market shares in recent years with smartphone taking a healthy shares of the market.

According to industry source, the Nokie's new touchscreen device will be unveiled at the Nokia World conference in September as the Finnish handset giant tries to revive its fortunes in the smartphone market.
