We expect our cell phones to do more and be more sexy. Every cell phone manufacture has jumped on the smartphone bandwagon and it is just about to get more interesting with a new offering from Google. Yes, from our favour search engine and email provider Google and soon when you say Googling someone it very well could mean calling or texting that person among other things. Google along with T-Mobile announced the available of a new Smartphone called Dream in the USA. The smartphone is similar in exterior design and general function compared to any other smartphones on the market. However, it is neither powered by Windows, or Blackberry, or Palm operating system. The Dream is powered by Google's own operating system called Android. The Dream phone is expected to be available by October 20, 2008. Dream is a GSM based phone and will work worldwide in the GSM network for voice or GPRS / EDGE and HSDPA (3G) for data. However, Canadian consumer will once again have to wait or purchase one on eBay as there is no plans for the Canadian release just yet. The Google phone is manufactured by HTC, a fast growing smartphone maker who bought us the HTC Diamond (available via Telus Mobility), HTC Touch and Touch Pro.
